Eau Claire (WQOW) - Power has been restored following an outage in Eau Claire.
Xcel Energy says power went out around 12:15 PM because of an equipment failure at the substation on Jeffers Road. Hundreds of people lost power due to the outage. Crews were able to fix the problem in about two hours and power is back on in that area.

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Hundreds are without power following an equipment issue in Eau Claire.
Xcel Energy says power went out to around 750 customers around 12:15 PM. Xcel Energy says there was an equipment failure at a substation on Jeffers Road. Xcel Energy is on scene working to repair the equipment. There is no time frame for power to be back on.
The outage has also caused an issue with traffic lights in that area. The Eau Claire Police Department says traffic lights are out on North Clairemont, North Crossing and Jeffers Road. Motorists are encouraged to use caution in those areas. Officers are out directing traffic.
