UPDATE: Charges filed against EC armed robbery suspects

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Charges were filed Monday against two men for last week's armed robbery in Eau Claire.

Brandon Goforth and Juan Carlos Benitez-Antonio were arrested Saturday by Eau Claire County Sheriffs deputies. They say they also found the car and three guns that were involved in the robbery.

It was last Thursday evening that the Mexican grocery store on London Road was robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a ski mask. According to the criminal complaint, Benitez-Antonio confessed, and said he had convinced Goforth to be his get-away driver.  Investigators say Goforth also confessed, and said Benitez-Antonio got about $1,000 in the robbery.

Eau Claire (Press Release) - On Thursday, July 19, 2012 the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Supermercardo Sandoval Mexican Grocery Store. A media release was issued about the description of the vehicle and clothing worn during the robbery. Several tips were received Saturday morning after the media release that lead to the arrest of two male subjects.

On Saturday, July 21, 2012 the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office took Juan Carlos Benitez-Antonio, age 27, and Brandon K Goforth, age 29, both from Eau Claire into custody. Both subjects have been cooperating with law enforcement; the vehicle, clothing and three firearms that were involved in the robbery have been recovered.

Eau Claire (Press Release) - On Wednesday, July 19, 2011, the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed robbery at the Supermercado Sandoval grocery store, 2824 London Rd., Eau Claire within the Town of Washington.

A lone male entered the business armed with a firearm, requested money and fled out the back door.

Video surveillance provided images of a person of interest in connection with this investigation.

A Pontiac Bonneville possibly a 1987 to 1991 can be seen pulling up in front of the store and a male exiting the passenger side of the vehicle. 

The lone male subject was wearing a dark colored "MMA Elite" mixed martial arts hooded sweatshirt with some kind of design on the shoulder area.

Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Law enforcement officers are searching for an armed robbery suspect in Eau Claire County.

The sheriff's department says a man with a long gun held up the Mexican supermarket on London Road, around 8:30 Thursday night.

A sergeant with the Eau Claire County Sheriff's department says the suspect is a male, who was wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans, and a black ski mask. He was able to get away with cash. Deputies are canvassing the area west of Skeels Avenue and London Road, talking with residents to try and get more information. We will bring you more on this story, as it develops.

Press Release (Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department)- At 8:22 P.M. the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office received a report of an armed robbery at the Super Mercado Sandoval Mexican Grocery on London Road. The victim reported that a lone male entered the store. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a black mask and blue jeans. He was armed with a rifle or shotgun. The robber forced the clerk to open the cash register. He took an undetermined amount of money from the register then fled out the back door. Deputies are still on scene investigation the incident.
