La Crosse (WQOW) -- The Express bounces back after an extra-inning home loss to the Loggers, as Eau Claire cruises past La Crosse at Copeland Park, 9-1.
Once again, the Express offense uses a big inning to take control of a game, as Eau Claire scores six times in the third inning. Casey Gillaspie goes 3-5 at the plate with an RBI, while Alex Real scores twice and has two RBI.
Starter Philip Walby is the beneficiary of the offense, as he evens his record at 3-3 with the win. Walby allows just one run on three hits over six innings, while striking out five and walking five.
The win is Eau Claire's first in eight games this season against La Crosse.
The Express will next play a three-game series with the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Friday and Saturday's games will be at Athletic Park in Wausau, with the teams playing at Eau Claire's Carson Park at 6:05 P.M., Sunday.
