Eau Claire (Press Release) -- Staff and volunteers from homeless shelters and community organizations will be conducting a count of homeless individuals in Eau Claire on July 25th.
The Eau Claire Continuum of Care (CoC) will be conducting its biannual homeless count throughout the day on Wednesday, July 25th. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires CoCs to complete this point-in-time count to collect data on the number, characteristics, and service needs of homeless individuals in Eau Claire County.
A chicken dinner, personal hygiene kits, clothing, massages and haircuts will be provided at no charge to homeless individuals from 5 to 6 p.m. at Positive Avenues, 320 Putnam Street. Representatives from Western Dairyland Community Action Agency, Bolton Refuge House, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Sojourner House, The Community Table, Positive Avenues, Calvary Baptist Church and Valleybrook Church will begin canvassing the city at 7:30 p.m. and will be looking for individuals who are experiencing homelessness, providing outreach, and obtaining information necessary for the count.
