Eau Claire (WQOW) - An apparent case of road rage in Eau Claire.
Investigators say a man who was visibly upset came to the police department Wednesday. He said he was changing lanes downtown when another driver honked at him. At the next light he says he saw in his mirror that the driver was holding up a handgun. He says the driver later pulled alongside his passenger window and pointed the gun directly at him.
Police pulled over Roberto Lastra a short time later. They say he denied pointing a gun at anyone before they even mentioned a gun. A handgun was found under the front seat of his car.
Lastra has a concealed carry permit but that did not stop him from being arrested for intentionally pointing a gun at a person and for disorderly conduct.
Lastra later told police he was pointing his cell phone at the other driver, not a gun. Police say the phone did not resemble the gun in shape or size.
