Plea bargain reached in embezzle case, community service ordered

Posted:

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A woman convicted of stealing thousands of dollars from her employer is sentenced to community service.

That's part of the plea bargain reached Thursday for Beth Borsheim. She was charged with stealing more than $12,000 from Menomonie Street Dental. Borsheim was ordered to repay $2,600. The rest was covered by the office's insurance. She must also do 10 days of community service.

The district attorney says the sentence was appropriate given her lack of criminal history and her inability to re-pay a higher amount because she cannot find a job due to the theft conviction.
