UPDATE: Name released in fatal Eau Claire car crash

Eau Claire (WQOW)- The Eau Claire Sheriff's Department says Jesse Schreiner, 26, of Eau Claire died in Friday's crash. Authorities believe Schreiner was a passenger in the minivan that hit other cars from behind at a red light. 

The crash happened at Clairemont and Cameron. Investigators say a minivan was approaching the intersection and struck other cars from behind that were stopped at a traffic light. WQOW has been told alcohol and speed may be factors in the crash. Investigators say shortly before the crash happened, they received a call about a driver who appeared to be under the influence.

Eau Claire (Press Release)- At 6:22 P.M. Eau Claire County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of North Clairemont Avenue and West Cameron Street.  The Eau Claire Police Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Township Fire Department and the Eau Claire Fire Department also responded to the crash.  The crash involved 6 vehicles.  5 people were transported to the hospital.  One of the patients, a 26 year old male, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The northbound lanes of North Clairemont Avenue between West Cameron Street and Crestview Drive remained closed for 5 hours while the crash was being investigated.

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Law enforcement officers are investigating a fatal crash that involved several vehicles in Eau Claire on Friday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of Clairemont Avenue and Cameron Street.  Investigators say one of the vehicles swerved as it approached the intersection and hit other vehicles from behind.  Law enforcement says one person has died and at least one other victim was seriously injured.

Investigators believe alcohol and speed may have been factors.  Shortly before the crash happened, they say they received a call about a driver who appeared to be under the influence.

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Investigators say alcohol may have been a factor in a serious crash in Eau Claire on Friday night.

There was a five-car pileup at the intersection of Clairemont Ave. and Cameron Street.  Law enforcement says two people were seriously injured.
