Rice Lake (Press Release) - The Rice Lake Police Department is again reporting an increase in thefts from motor vehicles, thefts from storage facilities/outbuildings, and criminal damage to property.
This past weekend the following incidents were reported to police:
- Burglaries - 2 (south area of the city)
- Thefts from motor vehicles/boats - 6 (north area of the city)
- Criminal damage to property - 3 (south and center areas of the city)
Stolen property thus far includes a laptop, camera and other personal valuables left inside vehicles where windows were smashed in to gain access. Stolen property taken from storage facilities includes a zero turn lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower and fishing equipment was taken from a boat.
Police are reminding citizens not to leave valuables in their vehicles, keep their doors locked and park in well lit areas and to always report any suspicious people or activity to law enforcement immediately.
