Obsession Chocolates closes its doors

Eau Claire (WQOW) - An Eau Claire business specializing in sweets has closed its doors.

Obsession Chocolates, located at Barstow Street, served it's last customers Sunday. The owner has been making hand made truffles and other candies for over a decade. The closing means 20 employees will lose their jobs.

"It's a restaurant cafe that has a pretty good following, brings people to the downtown for the chocolates that they produce. So it certainly isn't something we like to see. There's jobs involved, people involved," Eau Claire City Economic Development Administrator Mike Schatz said.

The owner has declined to comment on why the shop is closing its doors. Obsession Chocolates moved from their previous location on Water Street to Barstow back in 2010.
