Man charged in Barron pharmacy robbery

Posted:

Barron (WQOW) - Police say the man suspected of robbing a Barron pharmacy told them that his extreme pain drove him to do it.

Justin Pnewski, from Barron, was arrested for robbing the pharmacy Friday night.  He told investigators he had an auto-immune disorder and degenerative hips that causes pain. He also said he had been to a doctor that same day in an unsuccessful attempt to get pain medication.

Pnewski said he then went to the pharmacy wearing a mask and holding a knife.  A clerk says he told her he only wanted pain medications and did not want to hurt anyone.  Pnewski was charged Monday with felony armed robbery.
