Clark County (WQOW)-The site of a road washout where three people died in Clark County is nearly repaired.
A little more than a month ago a culvert washed out on County Road M, northwest of Neillsville. The washout took out a portion of the road 50 feet wide and nearly 15 feet deep. Three people died after driving into the washed out area. The road is open once again after the county made repairs and added two culverts.
"This is not a high impact area; this is the first time this area has ever flooded like that. Before we only had one culvert now we have two so that if this ever flash floods again the water will have two routes to go," said Michelle Hartness, Clark County emergency management coordinator.
The county still needs to black top the repaired stretch of road. Total cost of the repair is expected to be around 60-thousand dollars.
