County extends sand mining moratorium for a bit longer

Dunn County (WQOW) - An area county puts the brakes on any new sand mining activity for a bit longer.

The Dunn County board voted Wednesday night to extend its sand mining moratorium by another three months. It was scheduled to expire next week.

The board's vote came after a majority of county residents spoke in favor of the extension Wednesday night. The county manager says it will give the county more time to work on a new sand mining ordinance.
