Jackson County (WQOW) - In Jackson County a man is accused of stabbing another man because he mistakenly thought he was Mexican.

Anthony Minneker, of Black River Falls is charged with a June stabbing outside a tavern. The victim told police that Minneker, who he did not know, started verbally harassing him while stating his dislike for Mexicans. The man says he told Minneker he is not Mexican.

In fact, he's Native American. He says when he left the bar, Minneker came at him with a knife and again said he hated Mexicans. Police say the victim had numerous knife wounds, including one that needed eight stitches.

Minneker also faces charges in Buffalo County for allegedly stealing 65 guns from the home of an elderly Mondovi man.
