Jordan Zimmermann To Start At Miller Park

Milwaukee (WQOW) -- Former Eau Claire Express pitcher Jordan Zimmermann will make his first start at Miller Park Saturday against the Brewers.

Zimmermann, who grew up in Auburndale as a Brewers fan and later played at UW-Stevens Point, is in his third season with the Washington Nationals.  Zimmermann is having a solid 2012 with the Nats, with a 7-6 record.  His 2.31 ERA is fourth-best in the National League.

"It's definitely a dream come true, pitching in the big leagues," says Zimmermann, "and anytime I can come back home and pitch in front of the family and friends, it's always nice.  I grew up a Brewers fan, and watched them quite a bit growing up, you know it's going to be fun playing against them."
