WHITEWATER, Wis. (AP) - A missing University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student has been found dead in a limestone quarry in Walworth County.
The sheriff's office says the body of Benjamin R. Fuder was found Sunday about 6:45 a.m. The circumstances of his death were not immediately released.
Fuder was last seen in downtown Whitewater shortly after midnight Saturday morning. He was reported missing late Saturday night.
His body was found at the Whitewater Limestone Quarry in the Town of Whitewater, just outside the Whitewater city limits. The coroner responded and identified the body as that of Fuder, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A statement from the sheriff's office didn't indicate whether authorities suspect foul play. An email to Sheriff David Graves on Sunday was not immediately returned.
