St. Croix County (WQOW)- A third teenager has died after being injured in a crash on I-94.

The crash happened July 30th. The State Patrol says a semi was slowing down for backed up traffic and was rear ended by an SUV.

Authorities say the driver of that SUV, Zachary Zajec, has passed away.

The front seat passenger died at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN following the crash. A rear seat passenger received minor injuries. A second rear seat passenger was killed. That person was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, all others in the vehicle were belted.

crash.

Car versus semi crash claims two lives and results in two injured.
On Monday, July 30, 2012, at approximately 1320 hours, a car versus semi crash occurred on I-94
eastbound, milepost 6, Hudson Township, St. Croix County.
A 2000 Dodge Durango driving in the left lane rear ended a semi that was stopped in heavy traffic.
The passenger vehicle was occupied by 4 occupants. The driver, identified as Zachary D. Zajec,
age 17 of New Richmond, WI received critical head, chest and extremity injuries. The front seat
passenger was identified as Joshua J. Goodrich age 17 of New Richmond, WI. Goodrich was critically injured in the crash and later died from his injuries at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A
rear seat passenger identified as Jordan M. Johnson age 16 from New Richmond, WI was also
fatally injured. Another rear seat passenger identified as Thomas John Wanless, age 17 of New
Richmond, WI received unspecified non-life threatening injuries. Johnson was not wearing a
seatbelt at the time of the crash. All other occupants were seat belted.
The 2005 Peterbuilt semi-truck was operated by Keep N On Trucking of Cadott, WI and driven by
Paul A. Davis age 34, of Cadott, WI. Davis was uninjured.
The WI State Patrol was assisted by the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department, Hudson Fire
Department, Hudson EMS and Rescue, Roberts Fire, Jerry's Towing, St. Croix County Medical
Examiner, New Richmond Police Department, and Life-Link Helicopter.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.

St. Croix County (WQOW) - Two teenagers have died and two others were hurt in a crash on I-94.

That crash happened east of Hudson Monday afternoon.  The Wisconsin State Patrol says a semi was stopped in heavy traffic when it  was rear-ended by an SUV.  There were four teens in the SUV, all from New Richmond.  Two passengers died, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old.  Their names have not been released.  The driver, a 17-year-old, is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Another passenger, a 17-year-old, was also injured, but his injuries are not life threatening.

The semi driver is from Cadott.  He was not hurt.

The crash shut down east bound lanes of I-94 shortly after 1 p.m., traffic was flowing again by 3:30.

Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A rear seat passenger received minor injuries. Another rear seat passenger received fatal injuries. The fatally injured passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. All other occupants were seat belted.

Further identification of the passenger vehicle occupants is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The semi was operated by Keep N On Trucking of Cadott, WI and driven by Paul A. Davis age 34, of Cadott, WI.  Davis was uninjured.
