Altoona (WQOW) - A city-wide thrift sale will help raise money to fight Alzheimer's.
Starting Friday, Azura Memory Care will hold its sixth annual thrift sale at The Shed in Altoona. The sale is a donation sale, meaning whatever you feel the item is worth, is what you pay. One-hundred percent of the sales go to the Alzheimer's Association.
"Most people will give me a $20 for a harlequin romance because they know that every cent goes toward finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease. And so it is a really neat way to give back," says Paula Gibson, the Azura Care Community Relations Director.
Azura is still looking for volunteers and donations. If you're interested, stop by The Shed any time before 6pm Thursday night.
The sale runs Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to noon.
