Dunn County (WQOW) - A truck driver who survived this week's crash that killed another trucker is now in jail.

Destry Wilson, 22, of California, was charged Thursday in Dunn County. He's accused of homicide while driving under the influence and homicide by negligent driving.

The fiery crash happened Tuesday night on I-94 near Menomonie. A Minnesota truck driver died when he rear-ended Wilson's semi. A witness told police that moments before that he had to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid Wilson's truck.

The man said the truck was stopped on the highway with only brake lights on. Investigators say Wilson told them he had just smoked some synthetic marijuana at the Menomonie rest area.

Wilson is being held on $20,000 cash bond. He will be in court Friday.
