Menomonie (WQOW) - The site of a former grocery store is once again being eyed for development in Menomonie.
A Minneapolis developer is considering a development on the site of the old Leever's Grocery Store. The project would include commercial space along with 54 apartments and nine two-bedroom town houses. The city administrator says a grocery store could move into the commercial space. The project would only cover half of the property making it available for further development in the future. The city council will look at the proposal at its meeting on Monday.
Two-years ago, a developer was interested in a 250-bed housing and commercial space development, but backed out of the project in 2011 because of a lawsuit.
