Eau Claire (WQOW) -- Poor pitching and defensive lapses come back to haunt the Express Thursday.
Eau Claire starter Devin Moore struggled on the mound, giving up eight hits and four runs in 5.2 innings of work. Moore would earn the loss. Reliever Matt Lynch didn't fair much better, giving up four hits and three runs in 2.1 innings of relief. Mallards starter Kurt Giller was solid on the mound, allowing just five Eau Claire hits in six innings. He is credited with the win.
Eau Claire and Madison continue the series Friday at Carson Park. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
