Eau Claire (WQOW) - A suspect is caught in a credit card fraud case involving tens-of-thousands of dollars.
Nicholas P. Johnson was charged in Taylor County this week with 68 counts of fraud, almost all of them felonies. Investigators say Johnson worked as a clerk at a Medford motel. He allegedly stole guests credit card numbers and racked up $65,000 in charges.
It wasn't too hard for detectives to track down Johnson because they say he used some of the stolen credit card numbers to pay his college tuition and his car insurance. Johnson will be in court later this month.
