Eau Claire (WQOW) - As the Olympics continued Friday night thousands of miles away, many athletes prepared for a big day of competition themselves in Eau Claire.

Friday night marked the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Special Olympics Outdoor State Tournament. Everyone had a lot of fun, including WQOW News 18's Aaron Rhody, who was the emcee. The tournament will be held on Saturday, a day full of events at UW-Eau Claire, Hickory Hills and Bollinger Fields.
