St. Croix County (WQOW) - There was another serious crash on I-94.
The most recent incident happened near Roberts in St. Croix County around 10 a.m. Saturday. The Wisconsin State Patrol says a semi struck a barrier in a construction zone which started a small fire on the truck. The driver was not hurt. Both westbound lanes of I-94 were closed as firefighters put out the fire and cleaned things up.
At one point, traffic was backed up for six miles. All lanes were reopened around 3 p.m. and by 4 p.m., traffic was flowing smoothly again.
This was the latest in a series of crashes on the interstate this week. On Saturday, authorities reported that a fourth person has died as a result. Emily Sadowsky passed away a few days ago. Her SUV went off the road on Tuesday near Hammond. It went through the median and then collided with a semi. Sadowsky was from Green Bay. She was 22. The semi driver was not hurt. Three other people have died in separate crashes on I-94 this week.
