UPDATE: Second woman dies after Clark Co. crash

Clark Co. (Press Release) - A 90-year-old Marshfield woman has died from injuries resulting from a crash on USH 10 in the Township of Lynn.

On Sunday, August 5, 2012, at about 5:15 pm, the Clark County Sheriff's Department received a 9-1-1 call of a two-vehicle head-on collision on USH 10 near Catlin Avenue.

Initial investigation indicates a westbound vehicle, driven by Diane C. Mitchell, 69, Granton, crossed into the eastbound lane striking a vehicle head on.  Mitchell was killed instantly and a passenger in her vehicle, Donna R. Tichey, 69, Black River Falls, received serious injury.  Tichey was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

The eastbound vehicle, driven by Ramona E. Griffith, 57, Marshfield, and a passenger Catherine E. Ruetten, 90, Marshfield, both initially received incapacitating injuries and were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital also for treatment of their injuries.  On Friday, August 10, Ruetten passed away from her injuries.

Investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff's Dept.  The Granton Fire Department, Granton First Responders, Neillsville Ambulance, Spirit of Marshfield and Marshfield Fire and Rescue all assisted at the scene.

This is the fifth traffic fatality in Clark County for 2012.
