Lake Hallie board approves nine-month sand mining moratorium

Lake Hallie (WQOW) - A local community puts a sand mining moratorium into place.

The Lake Hallie Village Board voted 5-0 Monday night to enact a nine-month frac sand mining moratorium.

Several members of the community requested the board look into a moratorium after concerns were raised about potential frac sand mining projects. The village says it is not aware of any sand mining proposals at this time.
