Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire's director of public health is retiring.

Richard Thoune will retire in December. He has worked in public health for 33 years, including 6.5 years as director for the Eau Claire City-County Health Department.

At it's meeting on Monday, the board of health will talk about the process for replacing Thoune. Thoune says he is willing to stay with the department beyond his planned retirement date until a new leader is on board.
