Contractor gets deferred sentence in theft case

Posted:

Rusk County (WQOW) – A contractor will have to pay restitution as part of a sentencing in a theft case.

Steven Daniels pleaded no contest to theft by a contractor.  Investigators say Daniels, the owner of Wildlife Builders, received checks for supplies and labor totaling more than 21-thousand dollars.  Daniels finished the project, but admitted using the money to catch up on bills.

On Tuesday, a judge gave Daniels a deferred sentence.  He must also pay more than $10,000 in restitution.
