Study: Violent TV affecting kids' sleep

Posted:

WASHINGTON (WKOW) You might want to pay closer attention to what your kids watch on TV before going to bed. It could affect how well they sleep.

A study published in the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests a direct relationship between violent television and poor sleep.

Researchers found that more than 500 preschool-aged children who watched violent TV before bed had a harder time falling asleep at night and waking up in the morning. The study found that more kid-friendly shows, like Curious George, Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street helped improve sleep patterns.
