Eau Claire (WQOW) -- A five-run 6th inning propels the Eau Claire to a Northwoods League win over Green Bay in front of 2,327 fans at Carson Park.
The Express gets the scoring started on a bases-loaded, RBI single off the bat of Ryan Shober, before a Tim Zier single plates two more runs to put Eau Claire on top. Casey Gillaspie then delivers an RBI single, before the Express scores its final run on a wild pitch.
Those five runs help make a winner out of Eau Claire reliever David Borchardt, who pitches four innings in relief of starter Sean Renzi. Josh Scheffert moves from right field to the mound to pitch a scoreless ninth.
Renzi experiences some wildness, walking eight in four innings of one-hit ball, but he strikes out five.
Eau Claire will close out its final homestand with Wednesday and Thursday games against Green Bay, both of which will begin at 6:35 P.M.
