Chippewa County (WQOW) - New information on the three teens who were hit by a truck while walking in New Auburn Tuesday night.
Dalton Hazelton, 16, of New Auburn was airlifted from the scene. He
remains hospitalized but the other two teens are now out of the
hospital.
The Chippewa County Sheriffs Department says they were part
of a group of about 10 young people who were walking on County Highway SS. They were coming back from a softball game around 9:45 p.m.
Investigators says some were walking on the road with the flow of
traffic when they were hit by a pickup truck. The area is not lit and the speed limit is 35 mph. The driver stopped to assist the
victims and the sheriffs department says at this point there's nothing
to indicate he is at fault.
An investigation is still underway.

Chippewa County (Press Release) - Initial investigation shows that the pedestrians involved in the crash were struck as they were walking on and near County Highway SS. The pedestrians were also walking with the flow of traffic.
The area where the crash occurred is a 35 mph zone and is not lit. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
Investigation is still continuing.

Chippewa Co. (WQOW) - Three pedestrians were sent to the hospital Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Chippewa County.
Authorities say a vehicle was headed northbound on County Highway SS in the Village of New Auburn around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night, when it struck three pedestrians walking along the highway. All three were taken to the hospital, one was airlifted. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The crash is still under investigation.
