Matt Riley Excited To Get Started At Menomonie

Menomonie (WQOW) -- Matt Riley, the newly-hired head coach of the Menomonie boys basketball program, says understands the perception that he'll be coaching in a "football town."

Riley, a Cadott native and UW-Eau Claire graduate, says that's not a negative when it comes to hoops.

"Football has a great tradition of winning and excellence in the community," says Riley,
"and I want to create that same thing with the basketball program, create that culture, create excitement for the community, when we play our games at home I want to pack the stands."

Riley says the Mustangs will be an intense and physical team on defense, while they'll look to push the tempo on offense.
