Eau Claire (WQOW) - The suspect in two burglaries at an Eau Claire school is going to jail.

Michael Hibbard was accused of stealing a credit card and several gift cards from a backpack during a sporting event at Regis High School in June.

Several days later Michael Hibbard was found in the school mailroom. He told a custodian he got lost looking for the bathroom. The custodian recognized him from surveillance video of the backpack theft.

Hibbard was sentenced Wednesday to a year in jail.
