Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - A local celebration is underway.
On Thursday, Pure Water Days kicked off in Chippewa Falls. The event runs August 9-12 and includes a variety of events throughout the city. The main attraction is the parade on Saturday.
"Kind of the general theme each year is just celebrating our pure waters," says Allyson Gommer, Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. "Premium Waters is our parade sponsor so they will be handing out water during the parade too, just embracing our community and what makes us Chippewa Falls."
Other highlights this weekend include a petting zoo at Irvine Park, events at Leinenkugel's Brewery and a fireworks show Saturday night.
