Jackson County (WQOW) - A man who admitted murdering a Jackson County man now wants to change his plea.
Aaron Powers was accused of firing a shotgun through a patio door, killing Terrance Stoen. It happened in 2010. Investigators say Powers then burglarized Stoen's Melrose home and stole his truck.
Powers pleaded guilty to reckless homicide in January. But on Thursday he filed a motion in Jackson County court to withdraw his guilty plea. Powers says his lawyer would not let him see the evidence that prosecutors had against him and sent him a letter saying Powers did not need to see it.
Powers claims now that he's seen some of that evidence and it would have affected his decision to plead guilty.
