Madison (WQOW) - Emergency burning restrictions are being lifted thanks to the recent rainfall.
On Monday, the DNR plans to lift emergency burning rules in place for eleven counties. That includes a portion of Jackson County. The restrictions have been in place since late June. The DNR says rain over the past several weeks has helped vegetation green up again lowering the fire danger.
Despite the rain the DNR wants to remind people that drought-like conditions continue and to check the fire conditions daily because they can change. The fire danger here in Eau Claire County is currently at moderate, with the rest of the state in the low to moderate range.
