Eau Claire (WQOW) - WQOW reached out to the Eau Claire County
Republican Party chair to get his reaction on today's selection.
"This is the first
time one of the major tickets moving forward has had a Wisconsinite as either
the Vice President, or Presidential candidate. That's huge! To have a gentleman
like Representative Ryan who has a great deal of experience behind him, but
still has a whole lot of life ahead of him as well? I just think the vitality
and the intelligence it brings to the ticket is just...they have put together a
team that for the economy is unbeatable," says Brian Westrate.
Paul Ryan was in Eau Claire on Wednesday. We caught up with
him after a fundraiser for state representative Warren Petryk that was not open
to the media. He would not answer questions about being a VP candidate, but did
talk about the budget. He said not to expect any big changes on tax reform to
happen before November's election.
