Chippewa County
(WQOW) - A plea deal
has been reached for a Chippewa
County man facing
numerous charges.
William Shilts plead no contest to
burglary and bail jumping after allegedly beating up a Stanley business owner. Charges of aggravated
battery, armed robbery and false imprisonment were dismissed but read-in.
Shilts also plead no contest to
manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine. Chippewa County
deputies executed a search warrant at his house back in May of 2011, after he
failed to appear in court on charges from another burglary. A standoff ensued,
and he was taken into custody. Charges of firearm possession, obstructing an
officer, burglary and theft were also read-in but dismissed.
Charges
from 2010 of two counts of substantial battery were also dismissed. Shilts will
be sentenced in October.
