Eau Claire (WQOW) - The Eau Claire City Council will begin the search to fill an empty chair in its chambers.

Last week, Dana Wachs announced his resignation.  Wachs, is running for state assembly and didn't want his job and his campaign to prevent him from serving effectively.  Now, the council has to fill that vacancy.

If you want to apply, you must be at least 18, an Eau Claire resident and able to register to vote.  Submit a brief statement with your name, phone number and address to the city clerk stating why you want to serve.  Applications are due by September 5th and the council will appoint a new member on September 11th.
