Eau Claire (WQOW) - A verbal agreement has been reached between the Eau Claire Area School District and the future superintendent.
The agreement on a contract was reached Tuesday night in a closed session meeting. Dr. Mary Ann Hardebeck was named superintendent a month ago. Since then, she and the board have been negotiating a contract. Dr. Hardebeck currently serves as an assistant superintendent for a district of 66,000 students in Virginia.
Dr. Carol Craig, the President of the Eau Claire School Board, says they have taken their time. She says they've done that, in part, because there are language differences in the contracts Dr. Hardebeck is used to on the East Coast and what the Eau Claire board has drawn up in the past. The board should vote on a finalized contract this Monday.
