Rusk County (WQOW) - A woman is arrested in Rusk County for causing damage with a construction crane.
Investigators
say April Schmidt went to a construction site in Bruce Thursday night
and told some employees she wanted to work there. They sent her on her
way but say she returned and climbed onto a crane truck and started
pulling levers and operating the boom.
It's not clear if she was
trying to display her skills but she ended up hitting a truck with the
boom and causing extensive damage. A worker in the cab of the truck had
to take action to avoid being hit.
Police pulled Schmidt over in her car a short time later. They say
she resisted arrest and became combative at the hospital during
treatment for minor cuts and scrapes.
Schmidt was arrested for drunk driving, endangering safety and other charges.
