Emerald Ash Borer found in Trempealeau County

Posted:

Southwestern Trempealeau County (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin county will soon be added to the Emerald Ash Borer quarantine list.

This week a single adult Emerald Ash Borer was captured in a trap in Perrot State Park. That's in southwestern Trempealeau County and across the Mississippi River from an infestation in Minnesota.

As a result, the county will soon be added to the list of those under quarantine. That means residents in that area will not be allowed to move wood -- no matter what the type. The beetle has been found in 12 other counties and two others are under quarantine.
