Eau Claire (WQOW) - An Eau Claire property owner is hoping for a better view of the Chippewa River.
A homeowner who lives on Thorp Commons in Eau Claire has asked the city if he can pay to remove seven trees along the Chippewa River. He has offered to replace the removed trees with some natural plants. The city says he's doing it because he wants to improve the view from his home.
"The area along Thorp Commons is quite a nice view and within the plan as well, the Thorp Commons area was listed as an area with high priority to create some glimpses of the river," says Eau Claire City Forester Todd Chwala. "And the adjacent property owner here, in this case, agreed with that philosophy and he'd like to enhance the view of the river from his property."
The Waterways and Parks Commission will discuss removing the trees on Wednesday.
