Madison (WQOW) -- Wisconsin football head coach Bret Bielema announced via his Twitter page that transfer quarterback Danny O'Brien will be Badgers' starting quarterback when the team opens the season on September 1 vs. Northern Iowa.
"Also had so many questions about our QB situation that want everyone to know we are going to start Danny O'Brien in our opener against UNI," Bielema wrote on his @BretBielema account.
"Both Curt and Joel had great camps as well, we are very fortunate that we have 3 QB's that can play winning football for us. On Wisconsin!"
O'Brien transferred to Wisconsin from Maryland this past off season. He started 17 games for the Terps, earning ACC Rookie of the year in 2010.
