Altoona (WQOW) - A presidential bus tour makes a stop
in the Chippewa Valley today.
The Romney/Ryan Mobile Victory Headquarters
bus stopped at the Republican Victory Center
in Altoona to
drum up support for November's election. Dozens of supporters were on hand for
the event. Wisconsin Senator Terry Moulton and Representative Kathy Bernier
spoke to those in attendance, along with the Republican Party of Wisconsin's
first vice chair. He says the selection of Wisconsin
congressman Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's running mate has changed the polling
results heading into this fall's election.
"The race was very
close leading up to Paul Ryan's pick as the vice presidential selection. Now we
have a poll out a couple of days after that selection that show Romney has
pulled ahead in Wisconsin
by a point or two. So I think Paul Ryan on the ticket is very, very helpful. He
brings a lot just being a regular Wisconsin
guy, but also someone who is nationally known on issues like saving Medicare,
keeping taxes low, and bringing more jobs. That's what Paul Ryan brings, and it
shows in the polling," said RPW First Vice Chair Brian Schimming.
He also says that Ryan has also
added an extra boost to the Republican Party across the country.
