Barron County (Press Release) - On August 16, 2012, at approximately 5:26 p.m. the Barron County Dispatch Center received a call of a two vehicle crash at 18th Avenue and County Highway T.
Upon arrival deputies from the Barron County Sheriff's Department, along with Barron Ambulance, Cumberland Ambulance and Barron Fire Department, located six injured from the crash.
Initial investigation revealed that the westbound vehicle, a 2000 GMC Sierra driven by a 17-year-old female from Cumberland failed to stop at the stop sign on 18th Avenue and was struck by a northbound vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Caravan driven by Kevin L. Peters, 51, of Barron.
The 17-year-old female driver of the GMC Sierra was flown to Eau Claire. A 17-year-old female passenger in the GMC Sierra was transported and treated at Cumberland Hospital. The driver and three passengers in the Dodge Caravan were transported to Barron Hospital for treatment. This incident remains under investigation.
