Eau Claire (WQOW)- An Eau Claire County committee is exploring ways to keep the county clean.
The parks and forest department is concerned about trash being dumped in county forests. The department says people are dumping furniture and appliances.
"Our department ends up going out and spending man power, time and fuel to go pick up this garbage that should have gone to the landfill or should have been recycled and this becomes a significant cost to the taxpayers," said Mike Torud, Parks & Forest Director.
Next week the committee will meet to discuss an advertising campaign to raise more awareness.
