Former UWEC football coach facing child porn charges

Eau Claire (WQOW)- Child porn charges in Minnesota have UW-Eau Claire investigating a former football coach.

On Tuesday, Todd Hoffner was charged with creating and possessing child pornography. 

He is currently the head coach at Minnesota State-Mankato. 

Before taking that job, Hoffner was head coach at UW-Eau Claire for seven years.  Because of the charges, UW-Eau Claire says it's going over Hoffner's personnel file during the time he worked for the university.  University officials are also asking employees if they noticed anything unusual.

The school says it might go over his computer, but isn't sure if they'll be able to recover anything because the computers get wiped every five years.  He last coached the team in 2005. The university started doing employee background checks a year later.
