Press Release from the Wisconsin State Patrol: At 5:57 PM on Friday August 24, 2012 a crash occurred on WIS 70 EB at Turkey Trot Road in SAWYER County near HAYWARD. Assisting agencies included Sawyer County Sheriff Department, Stone lake Fire and EMS.
At 5:57pm a 1995 Toyota was eastbound on Highway 27/70 near Turkey Trot Road. The vehicle was negotiating a curve to the left and on a decline. The vehicle went off the road to the right and
entered the ditch. The vehicle rolled over and the unbelted driver was partially ejected.
The driver was the lone occupant.
Assisting agencies were Sawyer County sheriff Department and LCO Police, Stone Lake Fire
Department and Stone Lake EMS.
The driver was identified as Sean Eric Schoonmaker, from Stillwater, Minnesota. Investigation has found that alcohol was not a factor, and Schoonmaker was not wearing his seatbelt.
