Eau Claire (WQOW)- Construction work is ramping up on a project that its developers say will be "the premier lodging facility" in the Chippewa Valley.
The Holiday Inn and Convention Center is being built next to Globe University on Eau Claire's southeast side. Utility and road work has just been completed and the foundation is in the ground.
Work is now beginning to construct the framework of the four-story building. The $10 million facility will include 130-guest rooms, convention space, and a fine-dining restaurant.
Larson companies and other investors are behind the project. They say it will create more than 50 full-time-equivalent jobs. They expect to be open next summer.
