Political road show continues as Election Day gets closer

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Monday, a bus tour in support of President Obama made a stop in downtown Eau Claire.

The mayor of Minneapolis and State Senator Jon Erpenbach were among those on the bus.

The tour stopped at the Democratic Headquarters in Eau Claire.  Pat Kreitlow, who is running against Congressman Duffy in the Seventh District, was there.  WQOW News 18 asked him about entitlement spending.  Millions of Americans believe we're on a path that's unsustainable; WQOW News 18 asked him how would he address that concern?

"We absolutely have to take care of wasteful spending. We don't have to balance a budget on the backs of the middle class. You can make entitlement programs more efficient, you can pay for quality instead of quantity, in Medicare for example. There is no shortage of ideas that make Medicare stronger, the wrong idea is to essentially end Medicare, which is what Ryan and Congressman Duffy want to do," says 7th District Democratic Candidate, Pat Kreitlow.

Election Day is 10 weeks from Tuesday.
